Programs

Presently space limitations on the daycare restricts the programs to children from Kindergarten to 12 years old. As soon as space allows, we will seriously consider expanding our programs to include an infant toddler and a 3 to 5 year old program

We offer:  Before and after scool care

                  After school care

                  Before school care

Pickup and Drop off at schools on the North Shore

                  Daytrips on weekday afternoons

The day to day program are split into two sessions:  Before school (07:00 - 09:00) and after school (15:00 - 18:00).

During the morning session parents deliver their children to the daycare. The goal with this session is to keep the children calm and relaxed before school. We have a variety of games and toys that suit this need and a space is also reserved where children can sit and read.  At the appropriate times the children that are in schools other than Brooksbank are transported by staff who are class 4 licensed. Kindergarten children are personally delivered into the care of the Teachers. The older children are delivered to the safety of the school grounds after which they find their own way to the classes.

After school the children that are not located at the school where we are located are again picked up by the staff and transported to the daycare. Kindergarten aged children are personally collected from the class by the daycare staff and escorted to the safety of the daycare classes.

As our children have been in school all day, we favor a program of physical activity for them, after school. The daycare has a wide range of educational and creative toys available that will develop the gross and fine motor skills of the child. We offer a large variety of games, puzzles, Lego’s and other building toys. We have available arts and crafts supplies and the program is adjusted to the weather conditions.  At 16:00 the children are transported to different organized activities outside of the daycare. Examples of these are swimming, ice and inline skating, bowling, gymnastic, crossfit, art classes, beach visits and play parks. This is something very few ... if any other daycares do and our parents appreciate it very much

There are also ample time for the children to do some homework for school. Parents can pick up their children before 18:00 when the daycare closes

Below are some program guidelines about this program. Programs change every year so to see details about our upcoming programs click on the SUMMER CAMPS button at the top of this paragraph.

Our Summer Camp Program runs in July and August of every year. During this time normal daycare activities seize and parents do not pay Daycare fees. For those that want to participate in the program the daycare is open from 07:00 am to 18:00. Around 10:00 we will leave the premises for the daily trips to various places that the kids love. During this time no staff will be available to take care of children at the daycare.

Our summer camp fees include all costs for the daily activities. It is possible for the daycare to take the children too many exclusive places, but keep in mind that we structure our summer camps to balance the excitement level of the children with the financial considerations for the PARENTS.

Keeping the above in mind our weekly program WILL include a daily fieldtrip of which at least two and a maximum of three will be to locations that does not require entrance fees. These are still very interesting places none the less. Examples are the different beaches, waterparks, and play parks, nature walks around the mainland as well as sports and game days.

The program will also include at least two and a maximum of three fieldtrips to the more exclusive occasions that require entrance fees. Examples of these are The Vancouver Aquarium, the Planetarium, Maritime museum, and Maplewood form, Burnaby Village Museum, Crash Crawlies and others. You will notice that our programs will cater for the interests of the younger and older children. In an effort to keep costs down the daycare will also get group rates where possible.

This website has the facility for parents to write to us with suggestions on possible places the daycare can visit during these summer camps. Please make use of it or pass your suggestions on to any of the staff members.

Below are some program guidelines about this program. Programs change every year so to see details about our upcoming programs click on the SPRING BREAK button at the top of this paragraph.

Spring break is basically a mini version of the summer camp program for the two weeks that the schools are closed. Although there will be daily field trips, unlike summer camp, the daycare will be staffed for the normal 07:00 to 09:00 and 15:00 to 18:00 periods for those that do not want to partake in the field trips.
